Twitter confirms account of India PM Modi’s private web site hacked | India Information

BENGALURU: Twitter confirmed on Thursday that an account of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s private web site was hacked with a collection of tweets asking its followers to donate to a reduction fund by cryptocurrency.
Twitter mentioned it was conscious of the exercise and has taken steps to safe the compromised account.
“We’re actively investigating the state of affairs. Right now, we aren’t conscious of extra accounts being impacted,” a Twitter spokeswoman mentioned in an emailed assertion.
Modi’s workplace didn’t instantly reply to a request for touch upon the tweets posted on the account narendramodi_in.
The tweets, which have since been taken down, requested the followers to donate to the PM Nationwide Reduction Fund by cryptocurrency.
The most recent incident comes after a number of accounts of outstanding personalities had been hacked in July.
Hackers then had accessed Twitter’s inner techniques to hijack among the platform’s prime voices together with US presidential candidate Joe Biden, former US President Barack Obama and billionaire Elon Musk, and used them to solicit digital forex.
